August Weekly Recap 3 // (8.17.20 to 8.23.20)

Hey guys! This week felt so long. I barely even remember the entire week. I was really productive at work and didn't take many pictures. I won't bore you with the boring days so I'll just include the interesting days.

TUESDAY 8.18.2020

Tuesday's lunch was jam packed. I made an avocado bagel with everything bagel seasoning, hardboiled eggs, and a salad with French dressing. Usually I have a smaller lunch but I was feeling super hungry today for some reason. Later for dinner, Drew and I had our date night. We had a patio reservation at Black Sheep MKE. Service and food was awesome! I gotta warn that the noise level while dining on the patio is really loud, as their patio sits on the street and it's in downtown. We feasted on truffle parmesan fries, fried caesar Brussels sprouts, salmon paella, and elote corndog. The elote corndog and fries were my favorite!

We got the horchata tiramisu for dessert. It was so good! They also added rumchata to it so it had an alcoholic factor. It was tasty.

FRIDAY 8.21.2020

For dinner on Friday, we made a homemade cajun pasta. We baked some chicken breasts with cajun seasonings. Then we cut up some cooked lasagna noodles to make a pappardelle-style pasta. The sauce was made with canned diced tomatoes, heavy cream, cajun seasonings, spices, and we threw in some frozen green beans for extra color and to add more veggies.

SUNDAY 8.23.2020

We enjoyed some vegan spaghetti & "meat" sauce and vegan quesadilla with black beans, grilled peppers, onions, organic chips and salsa. We aren't vegans but we love vegan food. I always get vegan food from as many places as possible because the creativity and care that goes into creating it really intrigues me. The flavors are different, while still being familiar, but I like not having the same things all the time. Plus vegan food can be healthy and really good overall in flavor.

Sunday was super busy. We got to visit a lavender farm and a really cool sculpture park. I'm excited to share the adventure with you guys. I'll write up a full blog post about our visits to both places. This weekly recap was short but our adventure at the lavender farm and art park was pretty lengthy so that'll make up for it!

Have a great week!

- Vicky
